I Ching (Book of Changes)
The sixty-four hexagrams of the Zhouyi in the original text, with the two classic ways of casting: three coins, or the plum-blossom method from the lunar date and hour.
Cast with three coins
Each toss of three coins gives 6, 7, 8 or 9. Lines are built from the bottom up; 6 and 9 are moving lines.
Cast from the date and hour
Plum-blossom method: the lunar year's branch number, month and day give the upper trigram; adding the hour gives the lower trigram and the moving line.
